hahah.
last night Dustan and I went to his work christmas party. he works for dale jr as a graphic designer.
the christmas party was at whiskey river... hahahahah. now that's just funny. i had to go there. it's actually very nice inside... despite that... its still blasting it's country music for all the rednecks to get crazy to. it was a funny sight.
anyway, when we arrived we received 5 raffle tickets and 50,000 dale jr dollars to gamble, since the theme was a casino. the place was made to look like a casino. dustan and i do not know how to gamble or play any of the casino games... and no they didn't have slots. dang! ha.
so we traded our dale money in for a raffle ticket.... well 5 of them. we could buy more raffle tickets for 10,000. so dustan and i collectively callaborated to decide what we wanted to win. there were all kinds of prizes... digital cameras, camcorders, Flat screen tvs, money, polaris razors (the golf cart on steriods), even a party for 10 friends in the VIP section of Whiskey River with a 100 dollar gift card.
and guess what !!! we actually won! we won the Sony cybershot digital camera. YAY.
i was just excited we won.
next time i'll hope for the vip party because i know you are upset and wanted me to invite you to that!

12.12.08
i'm engaged.
wow.
i'm still finding it a little hard to believe but am excited none the less.
it all happened friday december 12, 2008.
well i had thought that's when it happened... but was informed the festivities actually began a week earlier for dustan. all that leading to an engagement full of christmas lights, savenger hunts and japanese food... some of my favorite things.
here's the story...
so for about a week dustan would hid the ring in different places each day that he knew i would look... and everyday for a about a week i never saw it. some places he hid it was in his glove compartment where i was busy digging through looking for his car manual. NOPE never saw the big white jewelry box. next, i was telling him about an ornament from the christmas party i was gonna hang on the little tree and he had the ring hanging on there.... right beside where i put the beautiful handmade ornament by tori.... once again, i never saw it...
after other attmepts... he texted me at work on friday and asked if i wanted to go to have japanese after we did some christmas shopping... and who can turn that down. still no clue on my end that he had anything in mind. after dinner which was great, we went to dustan's apartment to watch a christmas movie. i had gone into the other room and came back and all the christmas lights were on and he was sitting on the couch... i walked over and sat with him... and he was a little quiet. (nervous that is) :) he begins to tell me that he had a surprise for me. i got excited because hey i love surprises. he starts telling me that i couldv'e had the surprise all week if i would have just opened my eyes... he starts by telling me all the places he hid my surprise and how i never saw it. but that he would give it to me tonight. and he kinda glanced over to the christmas tree... so i look over there and saw this little white box opened up with something inside just sparkling in the lights. he walked over and picked it up and before i realized what it was he was on his knee asking me to marry him. i was shocked and happy surprised and everything at the same time. it was the most perfect proposal i couldve asked for. me being pretty low key and relaxed... i wouldn't have wanted anything more.
there were 2 things i learned from this night...
1) i shouldv'e known something was going on when all the christmas lights were all on without me asking or doing it myself. he never does that.
2) that i need to pay more attention in my life that there is so much that goes on and that is right in front of my face that i never notice. so my new years resolution is to stop and look around and enjoy life and see life for what God created it to be.
and for those of you who are wondering 12.12.08.. the 12/12 had no meaning... he wanted to propose on wednesday and had an elaborate plan for that but was very very sick, so that didn't work out. so i'm kinda thankful because i really liked the way it happened!
:) yay, now let's all dance and be happy and pray i'm not one of those people who get stressed out while planning a wedding!
